More About In-ground Pool Ladders and Inground Pool Steps

In-ground pool steps and pool ladders can give your pool an updated look while improving safety around your pool. In The Swim carries the Curve in-ground pool step system and several styles of in-ground pool ladders and hand railsIn The Swim also stocks a full supply of replacement parts for pool ladders, such as ladder treads, bumpers and escutcheon plates, along with deck anchors and pool ladder accessories.

It’s hard to change the look of an existing in-ground pool without expensive overhauls, but a new Stainless Steel pool ladder, a Designer pool ladder or available in six cool colors, Saftron pool ladders. For pools without built-in steps, make a grand entrance with a new step system for in-ground pools is a simple and affordable way to make your pool look more accessible and attractive.

To remove a pool ladder from the deck anchor sockets, first raise the escutcheon plate, sliding it up the rail to allow access to the anchor wedge bolt. Use a 1/2" socket or box end wrench to loosen the wedge bolt, until it rises up about 3/8". Tap the bolt head with heavy wrench or hammer, to knock it down flush to the anchor again, to loosen the anchor wedge, allowing you to pull the rail out of the socket. Rocking the rail from side to side will help to loosen the rail from the anchor.

To replace a pool ladder: All of our in-ground pool ladders install easily into standard deck anchors, placed 20" apart, and 24" behind the ladder rails, on center. Our replacement pool ladders are designed to standard specs for easy assembly and drop-in installation into your existing deck anchors. New pool ladders include ladder bumpers and escutcheon plates but do not include anchor sockets or deck flanges.

To install a new pool ladder: Cut-out a 20" x 30" area of the pool deck behind the coping. Place anchor sockets mounted on a 20" channel, add steel mesh and pour a new concrete pad up to the lip of the anchor sockets. Allow the concrete to cure for 7-14 days before using the ladder. Pool ladders can also be surface mounted with aluminum deck flanges
